The womens game continues to be quite unpredictable. You never quite know who is going to win the Slams these days.
Intriguingly competitive.
Rafa wins Smile and ties Federer on 20 grand slams Cool
Well done Rafa, he loves his clay clearly.
Only Rafa can beat Rafa on clay especially in Paris his record is just frightening
Yes, the men's French Open remains frighteningly one-sided. Even a player as magnificent as Djokovic, somebody who has defeated Nadal on 29 occasions, is comfortably second best on the red clay at Roland Garros.

Thirteen of Nadal's 20 Grand Slams coming at the French Open, arguably the toughest of all the slams with the gruelling nature of the surface and the conditions in Paris, not to mention throwing the uncertainty of the 2020 COVID19 pandemic in to the pot, is an incredible achievement.
Sorry, not a Rafa fan. As has been said, the majority of his slam wins have been at the French Open. But if the French Open is so difficult, then he should be coasting it at the other slams. He's just really good at one slam and at the least interesting court too. No one else cares enough to make an effort on clay, only he does. Hard court and grass are far more ubiquitous courts.
Dan Evans got beat on Day 1, in 4 sets.

He apparently had some kind of spat with Dominic Thiem beforehand. Thiem also lost on Day 1, in 5 sets.

Bigger story is Naomi Osaka, who won her match, but wouldn't do media stuff (to protect her mental health), and there's talk of her being kicked out of the tournament Sad
Ya and they go fine her over ten grand and say they will kick her out. Such a stupid thing to do
I have sympathy with Naomi Osaka.
She should appear before the media and just give one word answers.
She's withdrawn from the tournament
