There seems to be a few prediction games starting up on the forum so it's probably high time for another one - especially as the Premier League returns at the weekend...
... so who's in?
I was thinking of introducing a few changes to the format for this season, but if people prefer the old way, I'm more than happy to go with that. Post your thoughts on the following:-
- Firstly, all previous seasons have been played as one league format, ie all forum members competing in one league table. For this season I was weighing up the idea of putting all entries in to groups and then having the top two or three from each group qualify for a knockout round towards the end of the season...
- the second change I thought of was adding another way to score double points. We already have the jokers introduced a few seasons ago to give you six points for a correct score. How about another way to score six points by having a "dream team".. this would involve you selecting one of the 20 premier league teams as your dream team for a round and then getting six points if that team wins. Of course there are 38 rounds in a premier league season and only 20 teams so you'd have to choose when to play your dream teams as each team can only be played once and not enough teams to play one each round.
Fire away with your comments, please - the more feedback the better. Depends on how much feedback I get but the dream team addition seems more likely, given that the group format may mean some players are left with little to do at the closing stages of the season. Rest of the rules remain the same - three points for correct score, 1 point for correct result and fixtures will always be posted in this thread and taken from the Premier League website.
In the meantime, here's the fixtures for week one. Newly promoted Fulham host rejuvenated Arsenal to commence proceedings.
Good luck!
