A spokesman for the company refused to comment on the development, but it is understood that the withdrawal of subscription services is not coincidental and could be a sign that administration is imminent.

Among the first moves an administrator would make is to effectively “close the shop”, preventing customers from paying for services they are unlikely to receive. The withdrawal of the subscription service is consistent with that approach.

Hmm if they do go into administration an close down wonder what will happen to all the rights they have for there sporting events. No doubt sky an ESPN will pick up the most popular rights dunno about the rest. Will ITV be forced to buy the rest of setanta's england games so many questions.
Rumour has it that it will stop broadcasting on June 20th.
I'm not really bothered to be honest i mean as a footie fan i pay enough money as is for Sky Sports which is far way better then Setanta Sports. Also I already pay for a t.v licence and it would cost me another what £10.99 or so a month extra for Setanta Sports it's a rip off. As a footie fan who goes to football matches more often than watching them on the telly i hate the fact that Setanta have move games to 5:30 kick offs I mean 5:15 was bad but why ad another 15 mins to the kick off time, it's a real pain they come out with comments like " we don't show live football at 3:00 on Saturdays becuse we feel that no one would go to live games they'd sit and watch them on telly instead, right so they move them to Monday nights at 8:00pm makes it even worse time to get to the games.
I subscribed to them only because they got the Premiership games that I used to pay a one off charge of £50 to Sky for Premiership Plus.I have to pay £12.99 a month for loads of other stuff I never watch! I won't miss the channel as the picture was never that great, they had fewer cameras than Sky and they seemed to 'curse' most of the games they showed and they ended up being poor games to watch. So much so that my Dad and me would often just take the piss out of the players rather than enjoy the game!Smile
I'm usually against companies having a monopoly but I want to have one broadcaster transmitting all available games and just paying one charge per month and Sky's coverage is the best.

Yeah i liked that 50 games for £50 was a really good deal from Sky i think that if Setanta do go bust sky should bring back Prem Plus. Big Grin
If they do fold... I want my back!!!

If Setanta closes down all the rights they have can be re-sold to other broadcasters, except the rights to England matches as ITV would apparently be obliged to pick up those 8 remaining matches at a pre-arranged price.
Can't say that i didn't see it coming, i knew something like this was gonna happen. when it comes to coverage sky have always been good with football even tho they do charge a fortune for it.
Yup the same happend with ITV Digital that went down the pan.
bskyb is just a big empire for sports they gobbled up the big fixtures from the epl and spl and left sentanta with the games no body gave a shit about lets face it no company have got the muscle to take on bskyb atm so sentanta i salute you you gave it a go in a market dominated by sky Smile
