Had a look around Curry's at the tv's and saw the new Samsung LED.

Couldn't get over how slim it is, half the size of LCD screens almost paper thin, also the images seem much brighter than Plasma & LCD. Downside is that it cost two grand!

I also see that Sony are bringing out a 200Hz screen for their LCD models.
Technology really annoys me! Just when you think you've got the best they bring out something better, and dearer! Smile I was an early adopter in my teens and twenties so now it's up to others to buy the first generation stuff so that I can buy 2nd and 3rd gen for peanuts! Big Grin
Staggeringly good TV though! Smile

I've got the Planet Earth documentary series on Blu Ray. Trust me, in HD it looks absolutely incredible.
Full HD DVDs are astounding, you're right, but expensive.I gave up buying every new film on DVD about a year ago and save about £1500 a year.I just wait for it to premier on Sky which I'm paying top dollar for! Broadcast HD is only 720p at the moment I think and live broadcasts of sport still suffer from the same blocking and encoding problems that standard definition digital broadcasts do.The movie channels are great and BBC broadcasts are too but not so great I want to pay another £10 a month.Rumour has it that Sky will drop the subscription charge before Christmas like they did with the 'Plus' subscription when the early adopters have funded their hardware upgrade! Smile I think I will get it then.Wink
