As we get to this business end of the season, I hope some of you now will begin to look back over the season and comment as follows :-
1)how successful the season has been for your particular favourite club
2)which PL side has impressed/unimpressed you the most.
3)your player of the season overall
1) QPR
With me it is QPR. We can count ourselves if anything lucky, not be going down to League One this season. We had some brilliant performances/results, but sadly not enough consistent results to be in the position where many pundits had expected us to be.
I have a feeling this close season will see a huge upheaval of players in/out and a new manager installed who can/should put things right. McLaren's sacking was forthcoming, but I felt they should waited until the season was over before sacking him.
2) Liverpool & Wolves
Two sides stand out for me. Firstly, Liverpool have been the PL team of the season. They have not wavered or backed down in giving City a fight for the title. They have played with a passion and determination. secondly, Wolves.I think they have particularly surprised me as well. Many would have thought they would be going down, but they taken many points from teams with performances that have put them where they are.
Sadly have to say I was not impressed with Man. United. Under Mourinho, I thought they would be strong title contenders, but the in fighting and disharmony within and having it played out in public like it was over the back pages for me, really set the tone and under Solskjaer, it seems United improved, but it clearly was too little too late to rescue a season to forget. Goodness know how much of a financial hit Utd will have to take in trying to get Pogba offloaded as he wants away.
Solskjaer has to clear the decks and rebuild the team in the summer and create one that can he can put his own identity on.
3) Mo Salah
The performances he has put in are worthy of him being my player of the season.
