This thread is about things you've noticed this and last week and is for anything trivial, amazing, exciting or out of the ordinary. Have you seen something that shouldn't have been there like a fire engine parked in your street or an ambulance suddenly turn up? What about an event in your area, did it turn out the way it was planned or did the weather ruin it? Maybe you did some DIY that went well or spectacularly wrong? Or maybe you had something unusual happen to you, a family member or a friend. Love to hear about it. Post it here with a picture of it. For instance a few weeks ago I had something very unusual in my garden-see below- Last time this happened was nearly 10 years ago:

Okay now it's your turn tell all here. Smile
Noticed a long carpet of pink blossom on the road near us, which shows how windy it has suddenly become. Most blossom has now turned green but there is still the white sort around and it looks really beautiful on a good day.
Noticed no-one has posted anything here yet-come on lads, SOMETHING interesting or exciting must have happened to you? Big Grin I noticed all our tulips and daffodils have given up the ghost now - some green shoots of recovery of another plant but no idea what it is yet. Major notice-an ambulance turned up outside a neighbours house and an elderly woman was wheeled into the back of it. Also had two other ambulance vehicles with it, so it must have been paramedics called as well. We don't know who they are because they've only just moved in. Not a great start to a new house life.
I couldn't believe the seemingly endless amounts of health and safety bollocks you have to go through on an induction for the simplest of jobs.I'll stick to what I'm doing now thanksSmile.
^ It's a crazy world we live in nowadays.
Companies desperately do everything they can to cover their arses in fear of compensation pay-outs.
Even in my line of work which is mostly hands-on, the amount of paperwork I have to go through to cover all aspects of H&S is quite unbelievable. I appreciate H&S is important, but I must say there should be a point where very basic common sense should be applied and people simply have to look out for themselves.
To better illustrate my point; If you spill hot coffee on your knackers, it should be considered that you're just a bit of a daft cunt, it shouldn't mean you can then sue the company that sold you the coffee (and win) just because the bleeding mug didn't read 'warning hot coffee' Rolleyes

No wonder the kids growing up nowadays haven't got a fucking clue and need everything done for them.

But what I noticed today was that I tripped over and landed on a soapbox, feet first.
I was under the impression that our area of London was going to vote in the Local Elections but this morning we got our voting cards...for the European Elections on 23rd May. I am sure we've voted before but it seems that our area isn't doing it, which is a bloody shame because the Council is a bloody shambles and the last time we votes the Council Leader(who has been in charge for far too long for the Tories) hung on literally by their fingernails!
Sunshine, showers, high winds, thunder and sod all on the tele...in fact a typical May Bank Holiday weekend so far! Big Grin
Whilst on the way back by bus from the hospital-I went for my annual digital retinopathy eye scan(this is given to all diabetics) I saw a motorcycle come up beside the bus-at the same time a police car was turning to go down the opposite road and this idiot shot across on a red light. The police instantly did a U-turn and chased after him. I don't know if they caught him though. Either this guy was in a real hurry OR a complete idiot to do it as a police car was turning. I bet they weren't happy about it.
I hope they gave him a stiff talking to - breath test - then impounded his bike!! Tongue Tongue Big Grin
I hope they caught him first. It was quite a powerful motorcycle because he came past the bus it made a noise like it had blown up(a real throaty roar) and that's what I thought had happened, either it had stalled or something had happened to the bike.
