You mean the first test not the first team?Big Grin
On a bad wicket West Indies won the toss and will bat

England have gone with two spinners and have left out Broad.

Do we really need the unknown woman pundit back in the studios annoyed
England got the condition of the pitch wrong.
At tea the West Indies are 132-3.
At close West Indies 264/8.

Good recovery in the final session spearheaded by Jimmy Anderson.
The pitch looks to be getting more lively with time.
I must confess when England bat it seems tempting to hide behind the sofa.
Calypso collapso? Rolleyes Wink
Dropping Broad for Curran hasn't worked. Curran's not got a wicket where as Anderson got 4
There were options.
Play one spinner rather than two to allow both Broad and Curran to play.
Or play 2 spinners and play Broad over Curran. Or do what England did and play Curran over Broad.
Apparently Darren Gough advocated dropping Foakes and playing Bairstow as keeper to allow Broad to play.
England's record with Curran in the side is very good.
I think it's a case of judge it once the match is over.
The big problem was that the manager and Root misread the pitch.
They've planned for a slow turner, instead it's fast turning into a seamers delight. And they wanted to batting all the way down the order.

Not picking Broad or Woakes was a mistake. And I agree with Darren Gough, why do they need to pick 3 wicketkeepers in one team.
Windies were 289 all out in their 1st innings
I see the calypso collapso threat has appeared already Rolleyes.
