Padraig Harrington has been named as the European team captain for the 2020 Ryder Cup in the USA
Steve Stricker has been named as the US team captain too.
Postponed to 2021 now Sad
US Team:
Collin Morikawa
Dustin Johnson
Bryson DeChambeau
Brooks Koepka
Justin Thomas
Patrick Cantlay
Daniel Berger
Harris English
Tony Finau
Xander Schauffele
Scottie Scheffler
Jordan Spieth
^^ The irony wasn't lost on me with Bryson & Brooks listed next to each other in the list. I think there'll be a little more distance between these two when the Ryder Cup takes place.
It always looks a strong team from the US, but with 6 rookies, I'd expect Europe to have more experience when the team is finalized after the BMW PGA Championship on Sunday evening
Where is it taking place again?
And shouldn't the thread be called 2020(+1) Ryder Cup?

I think it looks a good US team, but you never know with their rookies I think they could have a surprise player or two. I do expect the Europe team to be strong but I would suspect Harrington will use his wildcard picks for two rookies.
^^ The venue is Whistling Straits, Haven, Wisconsin, September 24-26.
Despite being postponed from last year, it's held this year, so to call it anything other than the 2021 Ryder Cup would be stupid. Anyway, it's the 43rd Ryder Cup, if you like.
Expect no surprises at all with our Wildcard picks. The 2 places are expected to be between Ryder Cup veterans, Garcia, Poulter & Rose. Unless, there are any last minute changes to the 9 qualifying places.

Happy with how Europe's team shapes up. No complaints with the captain's picks. Rose made a great case for himself, with a good finish at Wentworth, but his overall form has been poor. Macintyre was someone I'd have loved to have made the team, but his time will come.
Only 3 rookies, compared to the 6 in the US team. Lowry at 34, & a mayor winner & Wiesberger at 35, with multiple wins in Europe, hardly lack experience. Hovland, at 23, is a superstar in the making, with 2 wins on the USPGA Tour, & in the top 20 of the world rankings.
Scanning through the team, I'd say the majority have good distance off the tee, which will be a requirement on such a long golf course.
