CW has officially ordered the pilot for the and will be directed by David Nutter who has directed Eps on Smallville, Arrow and The Flash & usually directs the DC CW pilots. Caroline Dries will be writing the pilot and will executive produce with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns working on show too. Fingers crossed it gets picked up for a full series.

“Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.”
Three more members have joined the cast for the pilot, actress Meagan Tandy has been cast as Sophie Moore in the comics her first love. Actor Camrus Johnson has been cast as Luke Fox son of Lucius Fox in the comics Luke Fox would become Batwing.
Actress Nicole Kang has been cast as Mary Hamilton, Kate’s step sister.
It hasn’t been confirmed yet but it’s sounding like Batwoman might be getting a season 1.
Actress Rachel Skarsten has been cast as the villain made Alice, in the comics Alice/Elizabeth is Kate Kane’s twin sister. The actress has been in a DC show before called Birds of Prey.
Some casting news Actor Dougray Scott has been cast as Kate Kane’s father Jacob Kane and Actress Elizabeth Anwells has been cast as the step mother Catherine Hamilton-Kane.
There’s a rumour goof around that Batman won’t be making appearance in the show which doesn’t surprise me and that his off limits for the time being.
The show is being picked up for a full series.
