Although I really like the two versions released by Kenny Rogers,I.prefer the 1967 single by Johnny Darrell.

It was just Hetfield on his own during the Load era,that song is as country as it got so you're safe from now on Smile
A classic from Hank Snow.



Sissy Spacek did a great version of this as Loretta Lynn in the film Coal Miner's Daughter(1980)but this 1961 effort from Jerry Wallace is sublime.
