Its just 1000% Political Correctness/Feminism crap. When will the sheer stupidity of this new feminism that thinks women looking glamorous on a motorsport grid or walking on at the darts is demeaning and that women need saving from being taken advantage of and that women shouldn't make money off the way they look or what they enjoy doing.
I'm strongly against this decision by F1 & Darts to drop their female promo models. it is indeed politically correct BS and anti feminist.

the models are doing this of their own free will, they are not being exploited, forced or degraded at all. also for me feminism & women's rights is women being allowed to do whatever they want with no barriers or restrictions. yet here we are with women (so called feminists) telling other women they cant be a grid girl

love the hyprocrisy from the woman against grid girls on the good morning britain interview. kicking off about women being objectified as grid girls, yet when it was pointed out to her F1 has male grid boys she says "I'm up for that" annoyed

then there was hypocrisy from Melinda Messenger who was on the wright stuff today via phone supporting the decision to drop grid girls yet what did she do for several years....SHE WAS A GRID GIRL FOR JORDAN RACING!!!!!!!

then Beverley Turner was a hyprocrite yesterday on itv evening news supporting the decision yet she had worked as a presenter on ITV F1!!! and had been a model

finally in my rant there was a debate on loose women today about this and two of them were against grid girls even though 2 of the loose women have been grid girls!!!!

Rant Over
They should make it a mixed sex job.

They could have males and females waving the flags... preferably just in shorts. Big Grin
it's false equivalency comparing women ogling men to men ogling women. the 2 are very different but i have to say the feminist on gmb did make some valid points. unfortunately for her they were valid 20 or 30 years ago. things have improved alot for women but they are far from equal. women are more empowered now than at any point in history but lets not pretend that grid and walk on girls are anything more than eye candy. that is the feminists issue's with it all, they see it a demeaning. but because women are empowered these days, they should be allowed to make money as they see fit and as long as there's no exploitation other women should keep there noses out.

there are more important thing happening in the world that require people's attention.
I get a lot of this is about Class most of the ones that are up in arms are middle class well educated women who dont like the fact that its mostly working class girls working as models

Some of the Hypocrisy coming from people who have done the job made a fortune and are now pulling up the ladder to stop other girls from doing it is staggering

Only really Kelly Brook and Katie price have defended it
It could just be a money saving ploy.
Great Tweet from the Have i got news from you twitter feed

" With one great sweep F1 gets rid of the gender pay gap by gettting rid of all the women " Tongue Tongue Tongue
Personally I wont even notice if they are there or not. You hardly see F1 grid girls (or boxing round card holders) on tv anyway so what's the point and the PDC walk ons is usually time for me to put kettle on before the game starts. Tongue

I do think it's pretty hypocritical of former models being high and mighty though so here's a pic of MM's jubblies. Big Grin

^ It's TV markets that are driving these changes. Sponsors don't want a sniff of any controversy. The media has bought into the objectification argument hook, line and sinker. So TV cameras have been avoiding ring, walk-in and track girls. The commercial side of these sports need TV (particularly so those dependent on fta TV) so they are capitulating to modern liberal standards that dominate in TV land.

For the life of me though I can't see what's liberal about taking away someone's right to do a legal job. This is the problem with modern feminist ideas like this, they end up oppressing women.
