Been meaning to ask this for some while..
This maybe a really stupid question but i'll ask it anyway...

The VLC player is my preferred Player and I find plays most movies.

Is there anyway to brighten Movies as they play on the VLC Player, I dont want to amend/actual save them afterwards but brighten them while I watch them.
Most play okay as regards lighting but the occassional one looks like someones switched the lights off.

Any help/suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Dont worry I'm not talking about any Movies from this Forum (lol)

Thanks
There's a button on the bottom that looks like a graphic equaliser. Click on this and the Adjustments and Effects box appears. Click on the Video Effects tab. In the Basic tab that you now see, put a tick in Image adjust. You can now play with the contrast, brightness etc until you're happy with the picture Smile
Hi Stevie

Thanks for your input
Not sure if Im using an older version but my VLC just has a slider giving speed time elapsed etc. and nothing else ...Sorry cannot see button you refer too.Prehaps I need to update version

EDIT
I know the Windows Media Player has this but cannot see it on VLC, prehaps have old version
I've attached a little screen grab with the box highlighted in yellow. If you can't find it, I suggest upgrading to the latest version Smile
Cheers mate , I think you must have a different version so I think I,ll better up date.
Will do this later, once again thanks for advice

EDIt forgot to say repped as well
For anyone on a mac its slightly different. The icon that looks like a graphic equalizer brings up a....graphic equalizer!

The picture adjustment controls are accessible through the menus: Window/Extended Controls. You may have to tick the checkbox titled 'Enable' in order to alter the brightness etc...

I've tried to do it, but have had no success. Sad
When I play a video I get a Vlc tool-bar window before a separate
window opens to play the video. And when I close the video window
I still then have to close this vlc tool-bar window.

Question is... how do I get rid of this extra tool-bar window ?
Is there some option I should check or uncheck ?

Thanks for any assist
