It now been reported that John 'Motty' Motson will retire from commentating football at the end of current season After nearly 50 years as a commentator. His final appearance will be at the FA Cup Final in May 2018. Truly a legend of the English game,an end of an era with his retirement and truly deserves knighthood. Let's have your 'Motty' memories.

Thanks John for brightening our football viewing We will miss you!!
Didn't the BBC do a tribute show to him 20 years ago? Good value though he is, there's a clue there.
Almost 50 years commentating on England and never seeing them win anything. Wouldn't it be just like it if they picked up the World Cup in Russia just after he hangs up his microphone.
Perhaps Motty can replace Joe Hart in goal ? That should improve our chances.
would think Italia 1990 was the perhaps the closest we eve got to the world Cup final with Motty commentating
respect to sheepskined Motty (raises hat) ImportantImportantBig Grin
