There seems to be some conflation of issues, here - this thread started as a result of the FCC's decision regarding Net Neutrality, which has nothing to do with Tory proposals to 'control & regulate' the Internet. So serious are these, however, and as lunatical as they are terrifying, I think they deserve a separate thread:

my bad i thought this was about net neutrality as a whole not just the fcc decision which has little to no effect on us in the uk.

fact is net neutrality is essential. there should be no internet fast lanes as this will encourage multiple tier access to the web.
you want gaming. pay 10bux more... you want movies that will be 50 more. this has already happend and was brought to an end when the fcc made cable wired networks a utility under title 2.

now that has all but gone. it wont be long before version on comcast start throttling netflix and youtube, while giving prefrence to hbo or whom ever pays the most.
