I can't win, so I have decided to have some fun with some of the last fixtures of the season.

That's not to say I disrespect the competition at all though, I've been impressed with marsbar's running of it, both with the timing of the fixtures being printed and with the up to date standings. Good job, marsbar. Hope to see everyone back participating next season too.

Two players both on 296 points, with another on 295, but Charlemagne wins by virtue of more correct scores. Well done! Smile

Many thanks to all for playing all season, and thankyou to those who gave me the opportunity to run it. If anyone wants a copy of the spreadsheet for the season, let me know!

I have decided I will let someone else have a go next season if there is to be one, I never realised how time consuming it could be, and with a wife and 3 kids, finding half an hour to sort the scores out etc was challenging on more than a few weeks!

Once again, thanks to all, and congratulations to Charlemagne. If I had a prize to give, you'd get it Smile
It doesn't get much closer than that, well done Charlemagne.
Interesting that although it wasn't the case during most of the season, that the final top three would have been the same under last year's rules with just the correct score predictions, so it seems fair enough that way.
It was good too that there were quite a few different leaders through the season, made it an exciting battle.
Credit to marsbar for doing such a good job with the timing and presentation of the scores each week, it has been fascinating to see the table develop.

So close, so close....

Congarts Charlemagne a worthy winner.

This new format is great it provided a thrilling concussion (think i spell that wrong but you know what i mean lol) i do prefer the old format but i got used to it though out the course of the season.
Thanks for running a successful competition Marsbar. And thanks to Circles in running me close. I'm sure that I was running in last place at the end of the 1st month.

I had 49 correct prediction and that's the highest total ever achieved.

I'd like to dedicate the win to Peter Noble, who was a great Burnley player from the 1970's. It was announced that he died this week. Apart from the goals he played in about every position
Congrats to Charlemagne on winning after a long fought season that came down to the final weekend of fixtures.

Big thanks to marsbar for running the competition which was a successful one and proved that the points system work very well to make a very close finish.

Hopefully we all be back here in August for another season of predictions.
It has been a very enjoyable and competitive season, both in the league and in our competition on here.

Next season should be as good, if not even better, with some new teams competing in it - Brighton and Huddersfield - and a Premier League veteran - Newcastle - returning. Congratulations to all three newly promoted teams. Smile

I think it's an excellent game that we play on this forum and long may it continue. It's always good fun each season. Thanks again to Marsbar for running it this year and congratulations to the winner Charlemagne. Smile

I'm now putting forward my candidacy to run it next season. So if everyone's in agreement, I will get things together ready for the start of the new season in August. I hope we can continue the fun. Smile
