The way Marcus is being hailed as a true British hero is all that is wrong with the way we treat ours sports stars today. The guy turned up to training with out a racquet for god sake.

I agree. Pissing your talent and opportunities up a wall is not exactly the stuff hero's are made of. Us brits love a redemption story don't we?

That's the Marcus I knew .
He had a female coach who once got to the Wimbledon final in the 70s who said he was one of the most naturaly talented players she ever saw but he just had no work ethic. You think with those opportunities he might have bust a gut or two.
