Hi all,

I've been trying to use Sendvid to upload videos so I can embed them into this forum, only it's been "preparing for playback" for well over 8 hours. Is this normal? Have I done something wrong? (Vid is only 11 minutes long)

Any recommendations for any other sites to use? preferably 1 that let's you watch the vid on the forum with a further option to download (rather than a download only option).

Thanks!

You may find if you log out then back in that all is well and you can upload the vid...

If a vid is taking forever to process, you can rename the file slightly and then re-upload it in a separate tab at the same time, then if (as I have found) that one loads more quickly, you can then just delete the original one (but keep it running in the meantime in case it doesn't).
Also, you don't need to keep the program open while it is processing. You can close it once the upload stage is complete and come back later to get the finished vid.
Thanks for the ideas, but neither worked. Original vid has been "preparing" for 16 hours now....

Think I'll find another site.
It's possible that your original file is corrupted, have you edited it beforehand? BS streams sometimes give recordings that won't open in editing software, and won't convert from one format to another.
Video came from BS as .flv, converted to .mp4 by me then edited (edited twice actually, first to cut out the crap then again for "clips" to upload). Both the .flv and .mp4 versions played in Windows Media Player fine
I'm done using sendvid, far too easy for petty cunts to get your videos deleted. Not really a problem if you upload one or two videos anonymously, but if your account is connected to Facebook or Twitter they will just delete everything. video bam had problems but it was much better than this pile of shite service... annoyed
I know people don't like using sendvid, but until recently I've never had any problems with it.

Now every time I upload a video it gets stuck on a screen that says is being prepared for processing, and I end up having to reload it anything up to 10 times before the site starts processing it properly.

When it gets to that annoying screen which says being prepared for processing, if I copy the video link and open it in a new tab all I get is a page with a 404 file not found error on it. Or if I go to my videos the file is missing off the list completely.

Is anyone else who uses that site having the same problem, and if so do they know of a solution Huh

P.S: Logging out, and then signing back in does not make the slightest bit of difference, as the problem still exists.annoyedannoyedannoyed
^^If it says being prepared for processing and stays there for more than a minute i just upload the video again.
It doesn't always work, but it's usually quicker than waiting for the original upload to start processing.

Sendvid seem to have made their process less compatabile with flv vids from what I've seen when attempting uploads recently. I've had exactly the hanging on the processing screen you describe on multiple tries with two seperate files over the last few days. I thought I was just being unlucky with old files.

But I do have something that seems to fix this - at least it has for me so far: My uploads have worked if I first run the flv file through a program called flv media utility. This fixes the metadata on the file and looks to make them more acceptable to sendvid.

Hope that's of some help to you.
