Just watched the last programme in the series.
And what a brilliant series it's been. It's been one one of the best programmes of this year. Only beaten by Game of Thrones

But you have to ask:
Why was it broadcast on BBC2? Surely it would have had a larger audience on BBC1Huh

The good news is that there's going to be a 2nd series
Agree with you Charlemagne. Great series. I'd read and enjoyed all of the books so was worried about how they would translate onto film but they've done a good job. Using some non-British actors has helped with the various dialects that would have been used at the time and they've done a good job in creating what you would think life would be like in Saxon/Viking England. Can't wait for the next series and the next book to come out in paperback.
Yes, it's been a great series, I've been glued to it. I haven't read the books so it's been all new to me and it's been a little shocking they way they've killed off characters just when they looked like becoming central. I was disappointed to see Leofric die at the end and I was sure Queen Iseult would carry over to the next series.
And I'm sure I read somewhere "starring Matthew Macfadyen and Rutger Hauer", but neither of them even survived the first episode.
Alexander Dreymon's been great in the role of Uhtred. I'm looking forward to the next series.

I was thinking the exact same thing about the scheduling, it should have been on BBC1.
Starts again this Thursday, 9pm, BBC2 Smile

This is my favorite t.v show!
And great news, I've seen on twitter there will be a third season soon!
This time it look's like it's going to be broadcast on Netflix though.
Apologies for the bump, but seeing as season 5 is currently being advertised/shown, I thought I'd check it out.
I'm annoyed I didn't watch it sooner, but never really paid much attention to it tbh. Three episodes done, the rest of season one downloaded and the others ready to go when I'm ready. I can see it being as good as Vikings for me, which I really enjoyed.
Finding this came at the right time, as it's a replacement for Vikings Valhalla, which I binned off, as couldn't get into it.
