What started as mostly a medieval Dark Fantasy suddenly descends into Cosmic Horror and EVERYONE DIES.

Worse, the show ends there. Imagine if Game of Thrones just ended with the Red Wedding and you had to go read the still-incomplete books to find out what happened next. That's Berserk.
