For the Boat Race it has to be former radio commentator John Snagge
He broadcast for 50 years. From 1930-1980.

Yeah Ted lowe is voice of snooker. so irreplacable they have to use loads of commentators to replace him
Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh - gaelic games.
Skiing - The late David Vine
Wink
He commentated on a few sports but for me Barry Davies will always be the definitive voice of the World Stare-Out Championships.

"Audacious eye-balling" indeed. Classic stuff.

"One blink - and it's all over."
Well for WWF/WWE for me growing up it was JR Jim Ross.
The original voice of cricket was Brian Johnston or Jonners as he was affectionately known.
Dan Maskell was ultimate tennis commentator

Barry Davies covered football for 42 years (including 10 world cups), 35 Wimbledons (and still counting), 12 summer Olympics (one more than David Coleman), 11 Boat races, athletics, badminton, cycling, ice hockey, ice skating/dancing, hockey and gymnastics.

Nobody has covered so many sports at the highest level, but as Barry said himself he was the "jack of all trades and master of buggar all!".
David Coleman always used to be my favourite for Athletics.

Mind you Steve Cram does a pretty decent job now to be fair imo.
