Quote:David Cameron has today revealed his intention to ban communication services like Snapchat, WhatsApp and iMessage if they continue to be encrypted from the security services.

Snapchat, WhatsApp and Apple's iMessage all encrypt their messages making it impossible for governments to look at them.

In the wake of the Paris shootings, the Prime Minister would ban these services in an attempt to open up all forms of online communication to the security services.

this isnt a joke. he's using the recent murders as the excuse he needs to start banning more and more of the internet.
he started with torrents then porn now chat apps.

my personal message to this ass clown who thinks he rules us and not work for us...

FUCK YOU YOU SELF RIGHTEOUS CUNT!.
I am afraid the days of the free net are soon to be over. Technology will soon be available to filter every single piece of traffic. This in turn will be able block any sexual traffic, anti government legitimate criticism and in turn block the biggest opportunity for free speech that most humans have ever experienced. US ISPs are already looking at taking less lucrative traffice onto lower speed systems and allowing pay sites like Netflix to have quicker service at a price. Big Brother is getting bigger by the day....
no government should have these powers. only the police and even then only with a warrant.
anything else is an infringement on your privacy.
I really can't stand that guy his a control freak.
Canada has just passed legislation which appears to require ALL internet providing services to keep logs of users in case the authorities require that information at some time. It's still unclear what this really means, but it appears to impact on VPN services in particular (ISP's already keep such logs). This basically negates the whole point of a VPN, which is meant to anonymize your connection.
We really are living in scary times, but unfortunately the most scary people are our own elected representatives, NOT the terrorists!
I wonder how they will judge us, the forum users on sites like these? Will they care, or will they assume we're all questionable people?
I'm proud to be "questionable".

If the boys from GCHQ, MI5/6, CIA, NSA etc are looking in... Go fuck yourselves! ;-)
For that to work there have to be no exceptions. Not for MPs, their families or boyfriends.
Mr Cameron go fuck yourself, but please know in the process that any porn sites that you visit are made public - Hey we can never be too careful now....Rolleyes
thing is its not just gonna stop there 1s they manage to introduce laws that ban encryption they will become ever more pervasive. to the point if you try and hide what your doing your will automatically become a suspect or even a criminal. all the while claiming its in our best interests to allow government access to your communications to stop terrorist threats which they are responsible for creating in the first place.
