I remember the above problems i had with rapidshare. i would recommend using Rapidshare manager for future uploads. Works for both premium and free users. Tells u when its done, allows u 2 pause uploads and u can upload multiple files one at a time in a queue. Plus its a rapidshare legit program, so wont steal ur login details.

You should see a display similar to this. Unless you don't get a Time Remaining counter on free accounts. I gather though that you've now posted the link from where you found it anyway...
