How long ago was this England squad picked - was it before the tour of Australia?
No it was after the Australian debacle. The squad was announced on 6 February.
England have an injury doubt over Morgan,& Gayle will miss the ODI's for the West Indies, but could be fit for the T20's
Broad has won the toss for England and West Indies will bat first.

West Indies (no Chris Gayle today because of injury):
1 Dwayne Smith, 2 Kieran Powell, 3 Kirk Edwards, 4 Darren Bravo, 5 Lendl Simmons, 6 Dwayne Bravo, 7 Dinesh Ramdin, 8 Darren Sammy, 9 Jason Holder, 10 Sunil Narine, 11 Ravi Rampaul

England (Moeen Ali and Michael Lumb make their debuts):
1 Michael Lumb, 2 Moeen Ali, 3 Luke Wright, 4 Joe Root, 5 Ben Stokes, 6 Jos Buttler, 7 Ravi Bopara, 8 Tim Bresnan, 9 Chris Jordan, 10 Stuart Broad, 11 James Tredwell
So Morgan is absent for England then, although West Indies are without Pollard as well as Gayle. I see Joe Root is bowling the first over, so that's a interesting decision to start with.
West Indies 19/1 off 7 overs.
Root with an early wicket as Broad elects to open with spin at one end.
Drinks interval now and West Indies are 49/4 from 18 overs. Impressive consistency from the England bowlers so far. West Indies batsmen have not gone after the England spinners who have bowled 11 overs of the 18.
At the second drinks interval West Indies are 119/4 from 36 overs. These 2 batsmaen are well set and really need to go for it now. England have used 6 bowlers, but nothing so far from Stokes or Bopara, which shows how good a job the spinners have done.
West Indies get 85 off the last 5 overs. Yikes! It's a pity Bresnan and Jordan couldn't find that yorker length. West Indies finished on a respectable 269/6. Good hitting but I'm not sure that Broad had the right bowlers at the death.
