To crop or not to crop

Here's an example of what I mean. I tend to crop the girls pics if I feel that it improves the shot. But should I just leave the pics in there original form?
i'd always crop that, don't understand why the girl wouldn't, the first picture is almost pointless
Pretty much every image I've posted is edited in some way, cropping out dead space (like you've done here with the mess), centering, adjusting the colours and lighting in some cases and reducing the file size in all cases, sure it is more time consuming than just copying and pasting, but if you take pride in your posting, taking the time to make sure your image posts look good is worth it. That image definitely looks better cropped.

I'm not an image snob, but sometimes I'm tempted to edit peoples image posts and tweak the content, I don't, but I'm tempted. lol.
A lot of the original caps have details that I don't want on the finished caps, e.g. tip goals and balance.

You may know a quick or better way but here is my way of removing them before I use them in my posts.

Open in Paint3D
Press the canvas button at the top of the screen.
Then click the Magic Select option, this provides a blue box which needs to be place around the object that needs removing.
Make sure the 'Autofill Background' option is ticked.
Then press 'done'.
All you need to do then is press your PC's 'delete' button to remove it.
Sometimes you need to try this a couple of times to remove all of the details.
Then all you need to do is save.

I did this on a pic of Hazel earlier.
