Newly promoted Yorkshire have got off to a poor start in the first round of championship matches with an innings defeat at home to Sussex.
Great game of cricket today between Warwickshire and Somerset, with Warwicks last pair batting out a tense final hour to secure a hard earned draw. This televised game was a superb advert for the domestic game.
Would be nice if they covered more 4 day championship cricket.Expect a heavy diet of one day & T20,with at best one or two 4 day games at the end of the season.

It wasn't known at the time but No.11 Oliver Hannon Dalby was batting with a broken arm after he was hit earlier in his innings.

Already through a quarter of the matches for most sides.Derbyshire are struggling as expected. But Somerset,Surrey & Notts would've hoped to have done better.Surprisingly Durham & Yorkshire are up at the top end of the table, with Durham going for a win today to knock Middlesex off the top.

Northants look solid with 3 wins already.Lancashire have pulled off 2 unlikely wins to date. You would expect Hampshire to be contenders by the end of the season.Leicestershire,Kent & Worcestershire will fight it out at the bottom.
Sussex are making a strong challenge in Div 2.

After bowling Yorkshire out for 96 & going on to win their first match of the season, they have today dismissed Somerset for 76 in 22.4 overs.

magoffin recorded his best & the seasons best figures of 11-0-20-8.

northants have a good squad of young english talent mixed with experienced players and a top class overseas bowler in trent copeland. copeland leaves northants in june/july for the ashes and northants want him back in august to finish of the county championship if northants are in a position for promotion and have the finances to do so.
Yesterday Alan Richardson also took a career best 21.3-5-37-8 for Worcestershire after taking 12 wickets in the last match against Kent.
