im a massive warhammer 40,000 fan and have been for several years. i currently have THREE armies. a 2000 point space wolves army, a 1,500 point imperial guard army and am currently building up a dark angel army which stands at around 1,000 points.

does anyone else here play it
I used to be a massive fan, I was more into lord of the rings i had a Elven army and a Isengard army both were very big i cant remember there points. I also had some Chaos marines and space marines both were about 1500 points. I still have my armys somwhere and my space marine army is not complete i still have to paint some models. I stopped because it was getting expensive, when i first started the paints were £1.50 per pot and when i stopped they were £2.50 i dont know what they are now. Sad
I was one of the old guard 40K players - I got into it through a schoolmate in the late 80's (having at first accused him of wasting his money on what I dismissed as 'executive toys'; teenagers have no idea how to insult someone, do they?). Somewhere I still have my original Rogue Trader softback original edition with the awesome cover artwork.
Ah, this is starting to bring back some old and very fond memories now! My first army was Imperial Guard (original style uniform and kit... they ended up as a traitor legion bearing Tzeentchian 'regimental insignia' simply because fully 75% of opponents at the club I played at had Imperial Space Marine armies and I was fed up of playing 'rebellious Imperial Guard')... They were a good force on paper but usually fell foul of virus grenades and superior-quality close combat troops. Mainly due, I must say, to the club members' habit of fighting across tabletops with thick cover every six inches that gave the close-assaulter a massive advantage and denied me decent fields of fire!Rolleyes Not bitter.
Needless to say, my greatest-ever win (and there weren't many!) was fought across a football pitch of a battlefield with prepared obstacles... it was like that scene in Zulu when they're firing by ranks. Beautiful.Big Grin
Happy days; I could go on and on.
