After the 2nd round matches we have now reached the last eight stage of this years competition. Seven of the top eight seeds won their second round ties. Only defending champion Cara Brett managed to topple a top eight opponent.

Once again I must remind you of the rule set out in both previous rounds concerning tied scores in the knockout phase. If the scores are tied the lower number seed progresses on the basis that they qualified for the knockout phase with more points.
As indicated at the start of round 2 the time allocated for voting in each round is being reduced as the number of decisions required by you the voters goes down.
Therefore the deadline for voting for this round is 5pm on Sunday 16th December 2012.
