Can see your point sb but disagree about red dwarf x in 2012. It wasn't a debacle at all. I thought overall it was a very good comeback for red dwarf and wasn't far off red dwarf at its best which was series 4-6. So not a surprise for me when this news was announced that 2 more series of red dwarf are being made

Well Rammy has disagreed with me, what a surprise, not Yes don't get me wrong I was a massive fan of this show, if they manage to recapture the magic from the 90's then I'll be the first one to congratulate them on a job well done.

Haven't seen it yet but it's apparently had good reviews.

I'm sorry but this series lost it for me around the time they did the episode about the assassination of JFK.
Just wasn't sharp enough I seem to recall, or was just getting a bit stale. Or maybe I grew out of it.
That seems a long time ago now, I shudder to think what series it was - will make me feel very old.

Series 1- 6 were excellent,I didn't like the newer episodes as much.

I thought red dwarf was at its best in series 3-6, then declined & hit rock bottom with the awful back to earth (Red Dwarf IX)

Red Dwarf X (the first red dwarf on Dave) was a welcome return to form I thought.

Dave are showing Red Dwarf VI 1pm-5pm this afternoon.

Just bumping this thread to remind the forum that Red Dwarf XI starts tonight at 9pm on Dave. Following it at 9:40pm is my all time fav ep of red dwarf; back to reality. Also on at 10:20pm is the episode marooned

Watched "Twentica", the first episode of Red Dwarf and loved every minute of it, very funny from start to finish. Red Dwarf at its best
