There's something odd going on with my monitor and I searched the net for suggestions, but couldn't find the answer. Then I remembered that this forum has a lot of people who are good on technical stuff and thought I'd try here. The problem is that there's a tint in the botton left hand corner of the screen and to a lesser extent in the top right hand corner. At first I was going to describe it as a purple tint, which it is on this page, but I've noticed that on some web pages which don't have a white background the tint is a different colour, it can be yellow or green. As I said it's only in the 2 corners that this tint can be seen and mainly in the bottom left corner. Very strange, huh? I was going to take a screenshot of it, but when I did so I found that the tint didn't come out and the image showed a normal display. Huh

Is it an old CRT monitor? What you're describing sounds like the symptoms of having speakers without magnetic shielding sitting too close to the monitor.
which means its the monitor itself

could be the vga cable has worked a little loose try tightening it up also have a look in the manual if not search the web for one will show you how to play with the settings could be one of the RGB settings has changed
Have you access to another monitor and lead?

Using trial and error you can often find out where the problem is.
Thanks guys, I've managed to sort it out now. I thought those speakers I got from Currys were cheap. Blush

Glad you got it sorted. If you decide to replace the speakers make sure you get some with magnetic shielding Wink
