On monday people can have their internet shut down due to a eastern european virus called DNS Changer. DNS Changer would send to a fake site that is identical to the real one and the FBI have taken over the illegal server but can no longer do so. only 20k uk internet users are affected out of 350k is a small percentage of the 2bn users worldwide.

If any of the forum regulars suddenly disappear on Monday we'll know what happened to them.
It doesn't seem to many people have been infected with this virus, as there have been a fair few people on the forum today so far
just wanted to let people know. its only a small percentage of people that have been infected.

Thanks for the update. Must admit that I got a warning about it from btinternet last Saturday but didn't think about starting a thread to warn others. Sorry everyone.
BT did say that your anti-virus should catch it if you do a full check of your system. Bit late now, though I suppose.
