This year the first matches started on April 1st & will run through to September 15th (CB40 Final-Lords).Notts & Derbyshire with 2 wins out of 2 lead Div 1 & 2 respectively
Yes and the rain after being sunburnt watching a friendly game in March has not been great. Pity that others are not into cricket and the babes on here. I often have the babes on TV whilst listen to Test match Special on radio. What is also great this year is that BBC are covering nearly every county game be it 4 day or limited overs on their web site. So what a great summer it will be for me Smile
After the latest round of fixtures we've reach the halfway point in the season (9th June) & have a 4 week gap (10th July) before the next matches start. In div1 Notts & Warwickshire lead the way with Som & Middlesex close behind.Durham bottom & without a win are engaged in a close match with Warwickshire.
Div2 see Derbyshire clear leader with Glamorgan propping up the Bottom.
My own Country Yorkshire have a run of 5 away fixtures,the present match v Glam.Then a further 4 after a months break.So 2 & half month without a home fixture,genius planning.
Warwickshire are the 2012 County Champions Division 1 after beating local rivals Worcestershire by an innings & 202 runs.
Last years County Champions in Division 1 Lancashire have today been relegated along with Worcestershire.
With Glamorgan's win over Kent the 2 sides going up into Division 1 will be Derbyshire & Yorkshire.Tomorrow will decide who goes up as Champions.Sadly for me,next year there will be no Championship Roses match for the second year running.
Derbyshire & Yorkshire both win their respective matches & finish on the same points total.Derbyshire are Division 2 Champion having won 6 to Yorkshire's 5 matches.

Derbyshire only won 'cos Yorkshire lost the equivalent of 20 full days due to rain.
They would certainly have won at least 3 more games.
Yorkshire never lost a match ,so morally were the best team.
