Today 'The world's Greatest Steeplechase' takes place at Aintree. Covered for the last time on BBC TV. 4.15pm BBC 1 TV. It is the usual lottery this year with 40 going to post.

SYNCHRONISED ridden by AP McCoy will start favourite at around 7/1.

I would suggest a little each way on WEST END ROCKER at around16/1 and CAPPA BLEU also around 16/1. Both have a good weight and good jockeys on board today. If anybody has any better tips please do not keep them to yourselves.Big Grin
Haha you beat me to it Danzig, I was just about to start a thread and saw this...

If the ground is soft and has been raining (I haven't checked any reports, so feel free someone to mention the conditions) then Giles Cross isn't a bad shout. Great horse on soft and has a good weight.
West End Rocker also good on soft, but a decent horse anyway. Well worth taking a punt on him.

Planet Of Sound, Calvery Bay, On His Own, and Always Right are good out side bets.
looks like it's firming up. i did SYNCHRONISED in the gold cup and see no reason to change that. what a horse! it wouls run up a mountain if you pointed it that way. killyglen also is in with a big chance. i fancy the irish in this race after a poor showing at cheltenham. the extra week between the gold cup and national this year couldn't hurt.
I've got Rare Bob and Cappa Bleu in the sweepstake from down my local.

Synchronised has won other nationals before now, and many people wrote him off at not being a Gold Cup horse, look what happened there.
He'll certainly be a strong contender but I get a feeling it won't be this year.

Sea Bass is also a decent tip. Could be the first woman to win the National ?
killyglen is in with a big chance as well. i fancy the irish in this race after a poor showing at cheltenham.
Ballabriggs to do it again , first horse to win it twice since Red Rum .......
Chicago grey 14/1
I have gone for Planet of Sound, a classy jumper who I am hopeful will last the trip.
Just heard that Ruby Walsh is injured and will miss ride on On His Own in the National after a fall in an earlier race.
