Now following on from eccles petition thread I've noticed that we only have 514 signatures which isn't exactly the kind of figures we could have hoped for to be making the sort of impression that is going to have Babe Channel exec's knocking down Ofcom's door demanding for change, so this is another idea I have and it is pure and simple and saves all the hassle of having to go through all the extra work of registering your details which obviously a lot, if not the majority on this forum have not bothered to do for various reasons, this is simple you will be presented with 2 options either yes or no, I will then post this link off to Ofcom HQ once a good figure is reached.
good idea scottishbloke it will be interesting to see if anyone votes no
Yes I am however still actively trying to get people to sign the petition too which should never be underestimated and all due credit to eccles in getting the ball rollling, what my agenda here is let's hit Ofcom with 2 front's, almost what an army invasion would do, the point of this is to hopefully strengthen our case for change, I urge all forum members to sign the petition and this too, the more we hit Ofcom with the greater our cause becomes Cool
Well polls are also tempting, and just a click away. I notice you must have set it up so we can't see who all has voted for what, wise choice.

Yes I did this on purpose, I don't want to be putting any undue pressure on anybody that could act to discourage them from voting, all I'm interested in is getting figures and sending it off to Ofcom, nothing else.
Well this is certainly worth doing and interesting (I have checked back to see what numbers etc). But to be pernickety (I do jump to play devil's advocate too often huh), this poll on a babechannel forum suggests it is not going to be that surprising. The self selection of the polled population (people who like the babechannels) is unlikely to give very informative results about widespread opinion, and if Ofcom ever bothered to analyse it they might say the same thing. Perhaps take a similar poll out on Mum's net? (If anyone actually does that please link it here, hehe).

Petitions are slightly different I suppose, but polls may not need vast numbers, just enough to give a sense of being representitive, as long as the targets polled are not skewed in some way. Perhaps Mum's net would be skewed in the other direction, though interesting to find out.

A friend of mine raised this on Mumsnet about 6 months ago, and there was virtually no interest. A regular poster obsessed with the way the adult industry works and a few posts along the lines of some couples watch porn together, and some marriages have relationship problems, but no one leaping up and down saying porn should be banned, any more than alcohol. And theres no poll option so only readers of particular threads replied.
Great thread,i just gave my YES vote Wink am i allowed say which way i voted laugh
What I fail to understand is the reason I have made this thread a poll is to make it so much easier to guage an opinion and to save most the time and hassle with signing the petition although I urge you all to sign that too Important and to be honest I was expecting the number to be at least in the thousands by now for the yes, whoever voted no, hang your heads in shame, please I need more of a response before I can e-mail this thread off to Ofcom HQ. Anyway thanks to all so far who have voted Cool
