Have any other Sky subscribers noticed a few channels showing stuff in the wrong ratio lately? Friends on Comedy Central suddenly looks stretched when before all was fine, and there's a couple of the babeshows that look distorted too.

I have a bog-standard widescreen flatscreen (32") and when I checked my Sky settings noticed I had it set to 4:3L. Presuming this to be wrong and thinking I'd found the problem, I changed it to 16:9, but nothing really changed. I then checked my tv settings which are set correctly at 16:9.

What gives?

sky often broadcasts programmes in the wrong format 16.9 with the letterbox screen with half the picture missing when the adverts come on you notice the screen appears normal so i doubt its your tv to blame
The odd thing is that things have only been going wonky for the last couple of weeks. Up until then everything was fine, and I hadn't touched by settings until now.

Just had a quick scan through that thread, Terence, and I now see where my problem lies. Thanks.
