Thought as we now know the 16 teams that'll partake in the tournament that a thread should be started up.

Looking ahead, according to the seeding system UEFA employ, there are some potentially brutal groups to be made. For England fans the harshest possible outcome is:

Spain, England, Portugal, & France. Not pretty eh ?

For Ireland fans, this would be a bit of a fucker:

Spain, Germany, Portugal, & Ireland.

Of course we could yet see a fairly fortunate draw for the home nations. Such as:

Poland, England, Greece, & Denmark.

And for Ireland:

Poland, Russia, Greece, & Ireland.

The group draw proper will be made on December 2nd. Fingers crossed.
Well you can now also add Croatia and Czech Republic to the mix.
But on current form, it is possible (and maybe likely), we will come up against either Portugal or Germany at some point, (with or without Wayne Rooney) in the team.
And one way or another if we face the Germans again, we better make sure we get revenge for 2010!! and we also make sure that little prick Ronaldo get his comeuppance this time.

Yet if we were to face Ireland too, don't forget there's history there too.
As an Irishman i couldnt give a rats ass who we get. But to contradict myself almost straight away i'd love to draw England Wink

I most definitely do not want England and Ireland drawn in the same group. Nothing to do with fearing losing or anything like that. More because it will almost certainly be an absolutely dire game to watch. 1990 might have been England's best World Cup since "you know when", but it certainly didn't have the best of starts with that 1-1 draw with Ireland.

England are playing, so that's inevitable with or without Ireland Wink

"The Liverpool one-two"
I want france so we can put history right. At least cheating henry won't be there.
As a Scotsman I yet again have the bitter taste of once again not attending the party, France 98 was the last time we qualified for a major tournment, a lot of it just plain unlucky, I mean one of our qualifying groups even had France and Italy in it, we've never had the good and fair draws which England has allways had to even give us a glimour of hope, ah well it's all about Brazil 2014 for me now Cool
whith the draw taking place on Friday guys, what would be your ideal groups for England & Irish Republic?
That possible tough draw outcome would be a nightmare. I could quite easily see England losing all three games. Especially with England's aging defence and sub-standard strikers. No Rooney at least gives others a chance to stake a claim up front, but the question is are the replacements good enough?

And yes, I remember World Cup Italia 90 too. The group games with Ireland and Egypt were dire games for a spectator. We want to see good matches, not bore draws.
