Sorry to hear of the death of Ginger.
He was a true character and it was always a pleasure to watch one of his interviews.
Both he and Red Rum will always be associated to The Grand National.
Ginger McCain will always be known as "Mr. National" and his record speaks for itself. My thoughts and prayers go to the McCain family and hope Aintree find some way to honour him.
The thing about Ginger was he always was honest with the racing press and his interviews a joy to hear, hearing someone being open
and honest with bos press and racing public.
Racing has lost a true giant and legend.
And not forgetting that almost 30 years later he won another National with Amberleigh House, and having had a tenner each-way at 16-1 it made for a very enjoyable evening.
