Kirui of Kenya is producing a mens marathon masterclass. The winning margin looks like being enormous. Truly devastating breakaway from his rivals, a quite awesome run.
we invented and discovered so many things with great people like newton and darwin, had one of the most intelligent people the world has ever seen in stephen hawking, yet 4 clowns cant get a baton around a running track AGAIN! deja vu.
Did the starter used to work in a library..

read on teletext the athletics target for 2012 is eight. I fear that is looking realistically unlikely, unless team GB find the right relay quartets for 2012.
so the question out the now is....
How many does anyone realistically think we could get in athletics at 2012 based on the current performance showing in the world championships?
As a long term and mad keen athletics fan the worry for me is the number of events where Britain failed to have any representation in finals. From 100m-1500m (excluding hurdles events) one person made a final i.e Hannah England (silver medal). And the field events were poor also not because of Ennis or Idowu - they were both beaten fair and square by superb rival performances. Its the lack of depth and strength and ability to make finals across the field events that worries me. Next year some poor soul will be designated as the Great British hope at the Olympics and all the pressure and hype will be piled on to that person by those who hardly watch athletics all that much but talk as if they are qualified to comment from the comfort of their armchairs or of their press box. And yet to focus such attention on one or even two people is to entirely miss the point. Strength in depth, converting talent into final places and final places into medals is the primary concern.
yeah your right, its the strength in depth what we have'nt got. i do believe we have got potential medallists for 2012. the mens triple jump is wide open and idowu could be up against 2 people in tamgho and taylor who have jumped 17 98 and 17 96 which is further than idowu's personal best and they are still younger than him and that other american who just jumped 17 50 to get bronze and i think hes only 20 years old, so there is a big possibility phillips might not even medal. jess has got to improve her throwing as we know and i think if she equalled her pb in the hurdles and high jump i think she still might have finished second behind chernova. dai green will be the fave to win gold but you know there will be an american coming from knowhere. maybe lisa dobriskey might finally realise she can be a world beater if she gets it tactically right cos i believe shes more talented than hannah england. mo farrah has got a great chance but their will be some africans we have never heard of AND the one i would put my life on would be a FIT paula radcliffe on a course she knows and shes so much quicker than any other female athlete over the marathon, although mary keitany of kenya might give her a few probs, but i just hope she can stay fit over the next year and if she does in my honest opinion she will win!
