I'm getting exactly the same results, not just on this site but every Rapidshare link I've clicked anywhere on the 'Net for the past several days - maybe a couple of weeks.

The IE tab is always labelled 'RapidShare - Secure Data Logistics' and the url always starts 'https'. Removing the 's' and refreshing doesn't work as it is always replaced.

Is there now no free RS downloading?

Edit: Not quite the same results - I've just looked at tedthebed's screenie and where his screen has a button labelled 'PRO-DOWNLOAD', mine is just 'DOWNLOAD'.

There is free RS downloading. I have just tested the link in the above quote and it works.

1. Click The Link.
It will open a page, which as you say will be titled "Rapidshare - Secure Data Logistics". A screenshot of the page that opens is below. Can you see the same when clicking the link?

2. Click The large green download button
This is located in the centre of the three main boxes (titled "Save Fie to...your computer"). The green 'Download button is at the bottom of this box. Depending on the browser you use and the settings you've created, this will either offer you the opportunity to download the file or begin to download it automatically. In case the latter happens and you don't notice, check your download manager.

Not that they provide much info, but here's a couple of screenshots of what happens when I click the green button in Firefox (as a free, non-pro, account-free, user)

a) Can you see the large green button? If not, please post a screenshot of what you see
b) If you can see it, can you click it?
c) Does the file begin to download when you click it or are you prompted to choose to open or download the file?
d) If not, what happens?

If when you do click the green arrow (I can see there is one in tedthebed's screenshot) you're presented with a screen that says "ERROR: RapidPro expired", it might be possible that you had an RS account (pro, trial or otherwise), that you're still logged in and as a consequence the site isn't allowing you to download as a free user. I can't see if this is the case for tedthebed as his screenshot cuts the top of the page off. If this is the case and you (tedthebed or vila) are logged in, then ensure you log out first - you can see the login boxes at the top right of my screenshots, the "logout" link is also at the top right so click it, log out and try again.
In the link you are given, try replacing "https://" by "http://" if you are a non PRO account holder.

or see the post before this one.

a) Yes.
b) Yes.
c) No.
d) This:

If I click 'Yes' in the dialogue box and then click the green button again, nothing happens. If I click 'No' and click it again an information bar appears stating that a download has been blocked. Unblocking the download produces this:

I don't know why the site is trying to install VLC Player as I already have a fully updated version installed.

Already tried that:

Copying the url, deleting the 's' and pasting it back in gets the same result.

A google search for the term in the dialogue box suggests that it may be unique to IE 7/8.
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CRUC-2675
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CRUC-2684

If it is unique to IE and is the root of the downloading issue, then using an alternative browser is an obvious solution - Firefox or Chrome aren't hard to install.

Alternatively, this webpage provides info on how to get rid of an almost identical dialogue box. You may or may not be able to see the additional text detailed on this web page if you were to click on "More Info" in the dialogue box. I don't use a PC and don't know if following the info on this page is either advisable or will lead to you being able to download the file.

This site also appears to provide some similar info.
It seems it is a IE issue as its been mentioned elsewhere that other browsers work ok, both of which skate mentions.
I don't think it's specifically an IE problem, but it might be a Rapidshare/IE problem. I get a similar dialogue box on loads of web sites and just click 'No' and carry on my merry way (e.g. every time I buy something on eBay). Only RS sends me down a blind alley.

I have a nasty suspicion that the remedy offered on those sites will just remove the need to deal with the dialogue box rather than sort the basic problem, but I'll give it a go.

Edit: Yep, just as I feared, it does exactly what it says on the tin – removes the dialogue box. The process remains the same – it just gets me to the same place without having to ask my permission first.
