if you've been with sky for a year or more and have the full pakage, ring them up to cancel sports (football season over!) they will offer you £15 off a month for three months to keep all the channels as a loyalty reward. i was only canceling sports untill the new season started so i just saved 45 quid!. Big Grin
It's opportunists like you that will be the death knell of top flight football in this country. Taking advantage of a situation to deprive Sky of monies that are rightfully theirs. Because of your actions any future TV deals my see a decrease in the amount paid and some of Premier League players are already struggling to get by on £80,000 a week.

Selfish, selfish man. Wink
I wouldnt give them any money as they dont offer a stand alone sports package and no the thought of it being the death knell of top flight football never crosses my mind either.
If i was going to go down the satellite route i would buy one of those foreign satellite set ups and only pay probably 100 to 120 pounds for a card for the whole season.
One of my local pubs here in n ireland has that particular type of set up and its sky italia they are able to offer live games at any time even 3pm saturday and virtually every game is selectable via an on screen menu.
Sky are nothing short of a bunch of crooks in my opinion they fleece their customers and constantly raise prices and the rates that pubs pay just doesnt bear thinking about.
They also came to my door once and asked me about buying sky i said no as they didnt offer sports only and they said no they didnt well i replied why as not everyone wants all the other rubbish which has to be taken just to get the sports i didnt receive a satisfactory answer and no encouragement that the situation would change.SadSadSad

I was listening to "Sounds of the 20th century" on Radio 2 last night.
It was music and news sound bites from 1957.
One of the topics then was about scrapping the maximum wage limit for footballers.
At that time, professional footballers in England were paid a maximum of £15 per week.
Thats about £400 a week or £20,000 a year at today's prices. Smile
