So all the above names are on the shortlist for the PFA Player of the Year award.
Who do you reckon will/should win and who do you think were unlucky to miss out on the shortlist?

Obviously only a certain number of players can make it onto the shortlist but how Nani wasn't nominated I don't know. He's been outstanding this season and for me deserving to win the award let alone be on the shortlist, so his exclusion jumped out to me straight away.
Another one is Vincent Kompany, but Vidic got the nod ahead of him (and Terry, who has been immense as well).
Baines has been impressive and they usually include a GK so I reckon Van der Sar would've been on there if they did.

But anyway it's close but the Player of the Year for me is Carlos Tevez.
He's just getting better and better for Man City and for all their dough if he were to leave in the summer they would be absolutely screwed.
Plenty of goals too which also helps Big Grin
I'm convinced it'll be Gareth Bale who wins the PFA Player of the Year award.
My vote has gone to Charlie Adam but I would've voted for Scott Parker if I'd seen he was there, but to be honest I think which of these two keeps their team in the Premier League should get the award... Scott Parker it is then.

Who do I think is unlucky not to be on the list, well thats an easy one, David N'Gog.
vidic has been amazing this season, but i believe it should go to either parker or adam as they are there teams!!
How many games as bale played this season?
I've gone for Scott Parker. Been a bright star for West Ham and has really come back playing well after being out in the wilderness for a while at Chelsea. Been rewarded with England caps, and I think Parker's a must now for England's midfield.

I would have also placed Matt Jarvis and Rafael Van Der Vaart on the shortlist as I feel they've both had excellent seasons too. Whoever wins will be a worthy winner though. Smile
One problem with the PFA award is its timing, in that it always takes place before the business end of the season, so someone coming into form during April after a quiet start (much like Rooney is doing) gets overlooked. From the six listed, it would be great to see Charlie Adam win, as he's been so important to Blackpool's season. But there isn't one stand-out candidate this time round, which reflects the overall mediocrity of this season's Premier League.
This is a really flawed list this year, I reckon and pretty reflective of the lack of outstanding quality in the Premiership this season.

Gareth Bale has done pretty much fuck-all for the most part of this season save for a good goal here and there between injuries - surely his two great games in the Champions League against Inter Milan shouldn't count!

Charlie Adam and Scott Parker have been merely good players made to look better by surrounding themselves with shit! Neither has done anything at the top table have they, where the real prizes are contested and where the real pressures come, not being involved in a relegation struggle where half the fucking division is involvedRolleyes Just because the papers laud these two doesn't mean that anyone with a mind of their own should follow like some mindless sheep.

I've seen most of Vidic's matches live this season and good as he's been, I've not been acutely aware of having watched pound-for-pound the best player in the league this season; if I have then that surely says much for how piss-poor the Premiership standard is this season!

This leaves those soft-as-diarhoea Snood Twins, Carlos Tevez and Samir Nasri; Tevez has indeed pretty much carried Manchester City's goal threat almost single-handedly this season, which says as little for City's tactics and management as it says much for him. Nasri, vile, ugly little snidy [unt that he is, has for me - for the first part of the season at least - been the player I've most enjoyed watching and is a real talent who seems to have lost his way since the new year.

But on the strength of his early-season form alone, I'd give it to SAMIR NASRI .

Enough for the media to massively overhype him. Wink
