Sinb/tanb = sinb*(cosb/sinb) = cosb.

Smile
in the interest of full disclosure i have to admit i googled the above answer, it would have made as much sense to me had it been written in yiddish.

here's the proof : סינב / טאַנב = סינב * (קאָסב / סינב) = קאָסב. !

shocker i know, but translating it to yiddish did not lessen my understanding of the equation (it is an equation right?)! Tongue

I once had a problem with my logs
It took a compass & a slide rule to work it out Rolleyes
I don't understand what Terence is on about with his sin/cos/tan Sad
It's all Greek to me

Why don't we have a bit of honest mathematics, like when I was at school.

I try you all with one that I learnt there.
'What is half of two plus two'
And I'll make it easier by giving you the choices
The answer is either 1, 2, 3, 4 or 8

Lets see how clever you are Big Grin
It depends how you say it?

Half of two plus two = 2

Half of two plus two = 3

The BODMAS rule would say do the division first, then the addition, so I'll go for 3.

(And waits for Terence to come along and make us look like fools...)
Well done Circles.
You've explained it pretty well. The answer is 3.

For the answer to be 2, the 2+2 would have to be in brackets
Let's go high-brow now :
