The video does play now, so maybe it was down when you tried. As for pop-ups, you should being using a pop-up blocker and also an ad blocker(s), it'll help.
Whichever browser you're using should have some options for you, such as poper blocker, AdGuard, uBlock, Privacy Badger etc. Now some hosts do go through periods of being spammy (that one does) and there isn't much we can do about it, but using the above things do genuinely help, and all are free/have free versions.
