Looking forward to the world cup mate, canny see England winning it though, hope I am wrong. Really disappointed that one of the great cricketing nations isn't there though, Scotland.
Cheesyboy
Pity about Scotland not being there!! And you're right England won't win it!! Neither will South Africa (sorry Paige)!! I think Australia will salvage their summer and win it - AGAIN!!
From SkyBet:
India 11/4
Sri Lanka 9/2
South Africa 11/2
Australia 11/2
England 11/2
Pakistan 15/2
New Zealand 20/1
West Indies 20/1
Bangladesh 33/1
Zimbabwe 150/1
Ireland 500/1
Netherlands 1000/1
Canada 1000/1
Kenya 1000/1
India 370/4 off 50 overs
Bangladesh 283/9 off 50 overs
India won by 87 runs
India got off to a good start putting 69 runs for the 1st wicket and Tendulkar was run out for 28 then Sehwag and Gambhir put 83 runs for the 2nd wicket but the 3rd wicket partnership was the key for India as it was worth 203 runs but the Bangladeshi bowling was very poor and it allowed the Indian batmans to settle. Bangladesh also got off to a good start putting 56 runs for the 1st wicket but once Kayes departed for 34 then the run rate slighty dropped but all in all Bangladesh were competitive with the bat.
Kenya 69 all out off 23.5 overs
New Zealand 72/0 off 8 overs
New Zealand won by 10 wickets
Kenya were an absolute shambles with bat and ball and for New Zealand it was a comprehensive victory for them.
Sri Lanka 332/7 off 50 overs
Canada 122 all out off 36.5 overs
Sri Lanka won by 210 runs
Sri Lanka got off to a steady start putting 63 runs for the 1st wicket however Sangakkara and Jayawardene put 179 runs for the 3rd wicket and then regular wickets fell after that however they still put a good score on the board. Canada got off to a poor start and were never in the hunt however Cheema was the only bright spot as he score a handy 37 runs off 35 balls but the rest need to go back to the drawing board.
Australia 262/6 off 50 overs
Zimbabwe 171 all out off 46.2 overs
Australia won by 91 runs
Australia got off to a slow start however they picked up the rate and scored what i will call a par score however Zimbabwe did put a spirited performance with the ball. Zimbabwe got to a poor start losing too many early wickets and were never really in the hunt.
going by todays game england wont win the world cup, i have a feeling that this could be the last 50 over world cup, its too long (43days), large part of the game nothing happens.
Netherlands 292/6 off 50 overs
England 296/4 off 48.4 overs
England won by 6 wickets
Netherlands got off to a decent start before losing a couple of early wickets however Cooper and Ten Doeschate put 78 runs for the 3rd wicket and their were some useful contributions from the lower order that boosted the score which was very competitive however England were shambolic in the field so was the bowling if they play like this against India then we could see a score of 400 plus from the Indian batting team. England got off to a good start putting 105 runs for the 1st wicket and all of the batmens scored useful runs however chasing 290 plus is never easy and England found it tough against the part timers.
