May not mean much to many but my club has lost a legend. Nat Lofthouse of Bolton Wanderers has died aged 85. Nat played 452 times for the Whites scoring 255 goals and made 33 England appearances notching 30 goals, an exceptional strike rate.
Much more than that though was the loyalty he showed to his hometown club. He did every job at the Wanderers up to manager and then played a big role in saving the club from extinction in the 1980s.
Having met him briefly I can say he was a genuinely nice bloke and his popularity around Bolton never dipped. A genuine one-club man he will be sadly missed by all at the club and the town.
RIP Nat and thanks for everything.
