Some people do appreciate being thanked though, so I don't think thanks should be eliminated.

Exactly, as much as I think a 'Thank You' button would be good, wouldn't the lack of Thank You's on top of other threads newly posted push certain threads where members can not see them?
I think the Sexstation thread should be split into 2.
One for the live stream stuff and one for the rest. It is by far the largest channel at present with 522 threads.

The thank you bit was intended as a joke. I was serious about it being a good idea.
I have seen a thanks system on a few other forums. There is a button at the bottom of each post simply saying 'thanks'. If you like the post click it. Underneath the post a separate bar appears saying 'the following users say thank you for this post'. There is also a new stat that would appear below the rep stat on the user info saying 'thank x times in x posts'. But I still like the rep system as well.
