PS - Just for the record I am not a racist as I have many friends from different countries and backgrounds it's just that anybody that chooses to bomb their own country is not British in my views. And a lot of this stems from their own backgrounds and religious beliefs in which is a very censored media and narrow minded dictatorship rule of government to hate all things free and western.

I just think its a sad indictment of the parents of this country.
Children should be monitored while using the internet at home. Now people can't even be bothered figuring out how to work the parental controls to protect their children. They want somebody else to take responsibility, so that they can have someone to blame and then sue when things go wrong.
Its like the TV. If you don't want them seeing that stuff, don't let them look. They are your kids, they are your responsibility.

Porn filters wont work because providers are good at changing to different sites, daily if they need to. At first the search engines will struggle to keep up but give it time.
The only way they could work would be for some voluntary group (Mediawatch?) to come up with a list of approved safe sites, and ban everything else.
And as for repressive countries - I hope Im not starting something - they are the worst for womens rights and sexual attacks against women. If in doubt ask western women who have lived in abroad. Public repression and respect for women go in opposite directions.
