I've recently been setting my recorder to start at 03.04 after a spate of failed recordings when set to 03.00. Was reliable for a while but just found it failed to record last night and also on the 1st. Poor reception? Late start? Any suggestions?
You can check reception by trying other channels broadcast on the same Mux... ITV3, Channel One, QVC etc. Are they fine?
Other channels seem fine, seems to be something to do with there being no signal before 0300. Odd though that recorder shows 1 minute of recording whenever it fails. Assumed it was because the transmission started late but cant see it being 4 or 5 minutes. Will try another recorder for a few nights and see if it has the same problem. Very annoying, good job some people are still posting recordings!

One of my recorders needs the time setting to 1 minute after the EPG start time for some of the babeshows, or the recording often fails. I only see this problem with babeshows, not normal programs. My other recorders are ok just to use the normal EPG times for all programs.

Got the same set up. One recorder has no problem at all, other two need setting at least a minute into the babeshows. Bangbabes though needs 3 or 4 minutes in general. Seems some recorders need to see a signal when they power up before they start recording, hence no problem recording channels that broadcast 24 hours.
Pain in the arse because normally fails when its a good show!
My recorder is usually okay with times, although when I set it for recording 2 channels at midnight it would occasionally crash so I set for 1 channel to begin 1 minute later.

A couple of things I've found with previous freeview boxes and my current recorder -

Put it on standby for 5-10 mins EVERYDAY. Sometimes it needs to shutdown to organise it's memory, or something.
When I got my recorder last year I left it on for 2 weeks, and then it wouldn't record anything I set it for, until I turned it off.
Then after another week again it wouldn't record, 'til I put it on standby.
Since then I turn it off for a bit when it's not in use.
Don't leave it on a BBC channel. If you want to watch a programme on one of those then record it, rather than watch it live. Something to do with the Red Button causes BBC channels to crash freeview boxes.
