It that time of year for me to upgrade my phone, just wondering if anyone's got any tips for getting the best deal out of the phone companies.
depends on Who your with and how long you been a customer with for, when ever i wanted to upgrade to a phone of choice i would tell the model of phone i wanted and if they still wouldn't give it to a decent price thats when you go on about being a loyal customer and that you'll go else where to get a better deal. Every time i've done always got the phone at a cheap price or better yet got it for nothing. When i got the iPhone 4 a few weeks go managed to get it at a cheap price just by talking to them and tariff was a pretty good deal and was happy with it.
With Vodafone and been with them for nearly 6 years
Then i would give it try, just till them the phone you really want and that you've been a loyal customer for over six years and your willing to sign up again for another contract, if they say no just say you'll leave and go else and get a better deal usually they'll come up with some sort of deal for you to stay as you've been a good customer, as i said done that loads of times and got really good deals. didnt get any discount, was told they cant do any deals on the iphone blah blah, said I'd leave then, even requested my pac code thing, they still didnt budge. Left it a coulple of days and I gave in as vodafone have probably the best deals for the iphone and they know it.

Sorry to hear that mate, could be down to the network and who you get. Sometimes you can get lucky.
