Looks the trainers from Back To The Future Part 2 could finally be seeing the light of day:
Nike has filed a patent at the World Intellectual Property Organisation for what it describes as a 'automatic lacing system'. This can then be translated into 'awesomely cool things on our feet'.
Powered by what appears to be a powerpack within the shoe, they would automatically tighten themselves around the foot when a button on the side of the shoe is pressed. Its application is actually surprisingly logical, for walking shoes and heavy duty boots the feet need fully surrounding support which these automatic straps would provide.
With the patent describing a lighting system as well expect to be raving out in the dark sporting your very own pair of Nike Air Mags.
