Bit of a theme going on here.

No more Siouxsie.

Ok noone can be arsed to follow up in this thread so I'll talk to myself it's cheaper than therapy.

Captain: So this latest post what's it about.
Vimes : Unfortunately divorce.
Captain : Divorce you say.
Vimes: Yes it was my ex-wife's favourite song and in very peculiar way my Irish Catholic mother's as well.
Captain: Apart from the ludicrous notion that you were once married, why does it still make you smile?
Vimes : Because, unbelievably, at one point she was the favourite thing in my life.
Captain: Wistful?
Vimes: Don't try to get inside my head, you loser.
Captain : Excuse me, you do know who you are talking to?
Vimes: Do one. I'm fed up of you.

Effing great intro still. No it's not you pseud. Will you shut up. You'll have to excuse him sometimes he just blurts things out. Wanker !!!! *Shrugs* See what I mean.

I know you don't really exist and that you are just a voice in my head. Vimes told me that you are quite good at predictions but he's an idiot. Big Grin

Scared? Pourquoi.

how had i never heard this cranberries song before. im obsessed with it, i knows it brings back painful memories for you i guess captain, but im loving it Smile

feel better mate sorry didnt mean to use that emoticon, my bad
Deep bass great opening and one of the best lyrics ever.

"I'm fumbled for change and pulled out the Queen. Smiling, beguiling."

This song never fails to make me smile. It doesn't have any particular emotional resonance with me, or anything. I just think it's deeply amusing, lyrically clever and it makes me think of Dark Lord Harry, my favourite "Evil Overlord" in fantasy fiction. (That reference will mean nothing to anyone who doesn't read Terry Pratchett)

This does have deep resonance for me.

Summer of 1990, a warm summer. a World Cup summer, a summer, sorry you non-English type people, when England amazingly got to the Semi-Finals of a World Cup.

Girlfriend pregnant and happy with our son, the pain was just a distant thought.

Happy, happy, happy.

This is so much cheaper than therapy.
There is a lovely, strange, weird and quite normal thing about putting this song up for ones that make you smile.

The normal is the documentary films that every one watches and not realising that it is the music of Pink Floyd.

Apart from that it would make me smile simply for the girl giving it everything, bellowing her lungs out because that's what they asked her to do.

Last, it makes me smile 'cos my brother and sister would smile like Krusty the Klown if it was played at my funeral.
